Giron, Byrnes Pace Cross Country at EMU Fall Classic With both sides racing a 5K distance (3.11 miles), the men went first with six attached and four unattached Spartans taking part. Byrnes, running unattached, posted a 15:00.8 time that was just two seconds behind the winner, Derrick Simmons of Michigan.
