Linux Foundation launches ACRN open-source embedded hypervisor project PORTLAND, OR. The Linux Foundation announced the ACRN embedded reference hypervisor project at the Embedded Linux Conference earlier this week. ACRN is an open-source framework consisting of two components: a hypervisor and device model, including rich I/O mediators.

Private Internet Access releases software as open source Private Internet Access maintains clients for the desktop operating systems Windows, GNU/Linux and Mac OS, as well as Android and iOS. The clients will all be released as open source in the coming months. The release of the source code for its client products marks a shift towards openness.
