Democrats Flip Kentucky State House Seat Where Trump Won Overwhelmingly Democrat Linda Belcher, a former public school teacher and state lawmaker, defeated Republican Rebecca Johnson, 68 percent to 32 percent. Belcher is no stranger to the 49th District, which is in Bullitt County, just south of Louisville.
